What do you get when you combine an eBay junkie, too much stuff and a neat FREE WordPress Plug-In?
A Mystery Box Auction, that’s what!!!
I was reading an email newsletter from one of the Internet Marketers that I follow, and she (Tiffany Dow) had stumbled upon this cool, free Plug-In that allows you to run an auction on your blog.
Tiff was actually auctioning off some PLR she wrote as an exclusive to the lucky winner.
So, what can I do to get in on this fun?
And then bam! It hit me! And NO it wasn’t Debra Conrad walloping me, AGAIN!!! LOL!
I have a warehouse FULL of goodies… BIG goodies, little goodies… tiny goodies…
Goodies worth $5 and goodies worth $30 or more….
My PROBLEM is that I have TOO many goodies and NO time to list, pack, and sell the goodies properly.
My OTHER issue is that I made a commitment to have 50 items LEAVE each week.
So, how do I combine selling some of the decent stuff, with getting 50 items out AND have some FUN at the same time…..
RUN AN AUCTION OF COURSE — BUT NOT ON EBAY!!!
If you will take a little look-see over to the right, you will notice a brand, spankin’ NEW item in my right sidebar.
That, my friends, is an “auction widget.”
And it makes things FUN!!!
This widget allows anyone with a blog & an inclination to run an exclusive auction on their own site.
This auction is exclusive to you, my subscriber and no one else…
It’s OUR private party and it involves no fees, closing costs or anything. Payment at the close OF THE AUCTION is made via PayPal directly to me.
So what do you think I did next?
I went toddling off into the black hole abyss that I call the warehouse, I found a suitable box and then I just wandered around and selected around 60 or so (interesting) items…
I brought the box BACK inside and started doing some quick research on eBay to make sure I didn’t have any “duds.”
I wouldn’t want to pass along MY frustrations and junk to YOU.
The premise of this auction is simple… ONE lucky winner gets the contents of the box!
I weeded it down to 50 very promising items… items that represent several DIFFERENT niches that I HAVE talked about.. and some I have YET to disclose to you.
What’s in the box is a secret… but I WILL tell you that EVERYTHING in there is quality and has been researched.
Who can’t use a bit of free publicity.
As the winning bidder you will have your auctions & listings from this box of stuff featured HERE on my blog — additional traffic for your sales… along with your eBay, Store and/or Amazon selling IDs.
Auction Nitty Gritty Details:
What does the lucky winner get?
- At Least 50 items in very good/excellent to BRAND NEW condition
(I may be tempted to “sweeten the pot” over the week – who knows??) - Spreadsheet with the item description, quantity and my estimated CONSERVATIVE eBay final sales price
- Suggestions on how to best sell the lots - a free written auction tutorial from me
- LIVE auctions & listings of your items will be featured on my blog
- A link to your listings from my blog and your selling ID(s) displayed on my blog
- An email sent out to my list promoting your auctions from this box of stuff.
- Ended auctions/listings will be switched to screen shots that link to your live listings (you will have your “own page” on my blog)
And you get ME.
That’s right… my time, my coaching via email, Skype or phone.
(I’m in the US on the East Coast).
I will be there to hold your hand through the listing, selling and fulfillment phase of your auctions…
You aren’t just getting a bunch of STUFF, you are getting an education in how I list the stuff I sourced for eBay.
Okay Deb, what are the “Auction Terms & Rules“?
- This auction is LIVE, right now.
- It will end at 8pm EST, Friday June 17th, 2011.
Remember… I’m leaving for surgery & pre-op on June 20th, so I need payment finalized and the item ready to ship out by Monday, June 20th. - Payment must be made via PayPal.
- The winner will be responsible for the ACTUAL ship fees…
I specifically selected items for weight and size to keep the costs down. - The bidding starts at $1 with NO reserve.
- There are (at least) FIFTY individual items…
- I estimate the final eBay selling total to be over $210.
Yep, you read that right! $210 smackeroos in that box!
There is NOTHING in this auction that I have NOT identified, have not seen successful auctions for or that are in non-saleable shape.
I have my reputation to stand behind… you will NOT be disappointed with this lot.
As just a teaser, I’ll let you in on some hints of what’s there….
Lenox, Boyds Bears, Hasbro, Hall China, Corning Ware, Starbucks, GORGEOUS Japan China, Sizzix, Wilton (of course!), Tupperware, Princess House China, Taz & Martin Martian, Hotelware, Silverplate Flatware & Servingware, Wilton-Armatale, 1952 Korean War US Military Collectibles…
I could go on…. but I’ve already told you “too much.”
Think about this carefully… this auction isn’t just for “the stuff”… you get one-on-one coaching with me as well.
If you’ve been looking for me to mentor you & hold your hand through the listing process & really get into my brain, NOW is your chance!
I charge $250 per SESSION for my coaching time…
Feel free to jump in on the fun! To get up to date info on who’s winning and how many bids there are go back up to the sidebar on this post (or any of the other post sidebars) and click on the small blue “more …” tag as seen in the image to the RIGHT.
To place your bid, click the “Bid Now” button (on the auction widget in the sidebar).
Happy bidding!
Best ~Deb

What a super idea! haven’t looked at the auction, yet, but think I may be bidding. This is an awesome opportunity. I’m praying for your surgery, and quick recovery. BTW, would you consider doing something like this again so the nonwinning bidders could bid again? It’s a creative way to share your knowledge, and get rid of stuff at the same time. Thanks
Oh my GOODNESS! This has to be the coolest thing I have read about in a VERY long, long time. My head is spinning with ideas.
I wish you all the best. This might be the easiest way for you to clear out your garage! LOL!
This is so cool. Which one of the plugins did you use? I found quite a few available. I think this would be cool.
That’s a clever, creative way to meet your commitment to unload 50 items each week. Just box them all up into one auction. And what a cool plugin that Tiffany sent you. I’ve never seen this before!
Mike
