Are you an eBay Seller or an Internet Marketer?

I’m going to go out on a limb today.

Jim Cockrum, an Internet Marketing GURU and a marketing genius all-round, has published a real, honest-to-goodness book.  Not the electronic kind, but one with a publisher (Wiley) and pages and a dust jacket and all the stuff that constitutes a proper book!

The book officially hit the shelves at major book retailers as well as launching on Amazon in the print and Kindle versions TODAY – September 27.

I pre-ordered mine, and have been going through the pages of GREAT content and learning a TON of valuable information!

“FREE Marketing” (Jim’s book) basically details all the creative stunts, methods and techniques Jim has used over the past decade to build his amazing on-line empire… and yes, he really DID create his empire from mostly free, or close to free resources.

Now I KNOW you may be thinking that you aren’t in the “Internet Marketing” niche, so why would you CARE… well you ARE.  You just don’t realize it!

Every single time you list an auction, you not only list an item, you are also listing YOU.

That’s right… your feedback, your past auctions, your refund and shipping policies and your (God, I hope you have one!) “About Me” page.

Are you linking to your latest and greatest FABULOUS feedback in EVERY listing?

You’re not?? Why not?

Are you your biggest cheerleader on your “About Me” page… or are your cheerleaders the nice emails and feedback that you receive?

Are you screaming at the top of your lungs the percentage of repeat business that you enjoy  – something like, 50% of my sales are from REPEAT bidders & buyers -   now there’s one POWERFUL statistic!

Okay, now try to keep up with the “train” (train of thought) and follow my logic.

Where Jim talks about “customers and clients“… well you got them!  Loads of them, they are called bidders and buyers.

When Jim discusses your business, you got that too… it’s your eBay Seller ID... and if you have an eBay Store, well that’s a business as well.

When he starts talking about ways to PROMOTE yourself, you can easily spin those methods to work for your eBay listings (or Etsy store or EVEN on Amazon Marketplace!)

There is Google traffic to be had, that comes from having the right keywords in your eBay listing title and description.  So search engine hints and tips, SEO, Keyword ranking… they ALL apply… and you need to really “get it” because you list CONSTANTLY, and each and every listing is an opportunity for you to get found!

I could go on and on… and in fact I will!
